RALLY FOR A REASON

The Tomah Rotary Club Members are working in conjunction with the City of Tomah Parks and Rec. Department to create a A with their installation of the Music Park

The Music Park will be A . Plato said that the patterns in all music and all arts are the keys to learning. The Tomah Rotary Club is excited to be working on a project that will provide developmentally meaningful opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.

Our Long Term Goals for This Project

Musical instruments invite participation for individual play and exploration, as well as encourage group play and interaction. By simply creating sounds, melody and rhythm, players become instant experts in improvising beautiful music, and contribute to the joyful sounds of the public space. Everyone can play. All ages–all abilities–playing music calms the mind and soothes the body. Music transcends age, gender, ethnicity, and ability. It is designed to encourage long play and engaging to all people.

Music Is Good for the Senses

Music provides a safe and enjoyable means of stimulating the senses, including auditory, vestibular, proprioceptive, and visual systems.

Children with sensory challenges may act out in response to their overstimulation, which can often lead to additional challenges with behavior, causing a reaction toward self-isolation and further challenges with socialization. In contrast, these instruments implement rhythms, which can be soothing for the user.

Music Makes People Happy

Music therapy can reduce anxiety, regulate blood pressure and respiration, and provide an overall sense of well-being.

Studies have shown that the pure harmonies offer gratifying musical experiences that support inclusive multigenerational play that are age-appropriate at any developmental stage.

Help us bring music to outdoor environments in our community for improved healthy intellectual, social, and physical development.
